The bride and groom cut their wedding cake together during their wedding reception at Woodthorpe Hall in Holmesfield, Derbyshire. The cutting of the wedding cake is one of the must have photographs from any wedding day and can be one of the most fun to take. We see all sorts of funny moments before, during and after the cake cutting. This is light-hearted fun as most of the stressful part of the day is over. Cake cutting usually signifies the start of the evening proceedings and comes shortly before the couple share their first dance together, a time when the fun can start as the evening reception gets into full swing! The first dance, another occasion where fun can be had for those of a more extrovert nature, or a few quiet moments dancing together for the rest (of us!).
We have photographed many weddings in Derbyshire now. Being based so close to the border with Derbyshire, we are as close to many of the north-east Derbyshire wedding venues as to many of those in South Yorkshire. It matters not to us where the venue is, we just want to be there and photograph happy people on one of the key days during their lives together.
