The first dance is one of the key events during a wedding day and one of the photographs we must take. We have seen all sorts of first dances during the dozens of weddings we have photographed, from highly rehearsed and highly choreographed dance routines to much more informal and relaxed affairs. For our newly married couple here at their wedding reception at the magnificent Woodthorpe Hall, Holmesfield, Derbyshire, a relaxed and fun dance was the order of the day. For couples who really want to put on a show then this can be the time to do it, for the rest of us (me included!), a much more low-key whirl around the dance floor is the order of the day.
There is no need to put yourself under undue pressure, and short of falling over or colliding with the furniture there is little that is likely to go wrong so just try to enjoy the moment for like many parts of the wedding day, it will soon be done and just a memory.
This wedding reception at Woodthorpe took place within this magnificent marque in the grounds of the hall. Here we see our happy couple undertaking their first dance together as man and wife, they really enjoyed this experience in the company of their family and friends, enjoy the moment!
