Another fun packed Engagement photo session with our happy couple Olivia and Dan. When we first met them they saw one of our images of another couple on the jetty at Whitley Hall and said “that’s where we got engaged, we want you to photograph our wedding!” What a wonderful day we all had at this historic Sheffield Wedding venue.
A fantastic autumn day in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens with Lucinda and Matt a few weeks before their wedding at Cubley Hall Hotel in Penistone.
When we first met these two we knew their Wedding was going to be fun! What a fantastic couple and what a fun day we have with them both here in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens and at their Wedding at the Kenwood Hall Hotel.
Alex and Ryan are massive fans of Sheffield artist Pete McKee and wanted to re-create one of his most famous works “A Perfect Day” in Meersbrook Park Sheffield with our wonderful city laid out before them, there is even a small cameo role for one of our whippets on this shoot! Look out for their Wedding Images from The Cutlers Hall Sheffield coming soon.
Wonderful Engagement Photography photo shoot at the spectacular Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire a couple of weeks before their Wedding at Holy Trinity Church in the village of Wentworth.
Fantastic Engagement Photo Session with Hannah and Andy at the Surprise View near Fox House in Derbyshire. Got some fantastic images, here are a couple.
Ringwood Hall Hotel Engagement
We are off and running on what looks like being one very busy year. To start us off we had a fantastic couple of hours with wonderful Lauren and Sam at Ringwood Hall Hotel which will be the setting for their wedding reception in May following their wedding at St Bartholomew’s in Old Whittington.
Sier Photography now on Instagram
We now have a Sier Photography Instagram page! I’m led to believe this is the in thing for sneak-peaks of upcoming wedding images. As we have finished our weddings for this year we will publish some images from the archives, when our new season comes we post some images from these there as well as here, keep an eye open!
You can now follow us on Facebook and Twitter as well as Instagram.
We had an absolute hoot with Laura and Ben on their Engagement Photography Session. The pouring rain didn’t deter any of us from having a fantastic and fun time. Their Wedding images have now been delivered, we will be sharing a selection of those too once they have had time to view them and enjoy them first.
We posted a brief look at this Engagement session a few weeks back but now that Natalie and Richard are married (images of their Wedding coming soon) we thought we would share some more images from their Engagement photography session. We had a total failure trying to take some images at Roach Abbey, English Heritage wanted to charge us £150 for us to take their photos there, we didn’t bother and won’t be visiting the place, ever, £150 to take a few photos we could have kept quite about and sneaked in and done anyway is ridiculous. The folks at Hellaby Hall could not have been more helpful and accommodating so we went there instead, Wedding Day images to follow soon!
I’m not sure if it is because I’m British, or because my parents (and grandparents and teachers) brought me up properly but I almost always follow the rules to the letter! It doesn’t matter if it is “do not steal” or “keep off the grass” or clear-up after your pet, I try to understand the rules and boundaries, follow procedures and try to operate my life in a decent and honest way without causing trouble for anyone else. I extend follow the understanding rules and boundaries in situations like photographing at a new venue. If possible I will visit the Vicar, Priest or officiant at a new venue to see what their rules are, where I can go and where I shouldn’t go, the last thing I want to do is stray into some sacred area of a church or temple and cause upset to the Bride and Groom, congregation and the custodian of the venue, it is their place of work and their rules after all.
This weekend one of our couples wanted to have their engagement shoot at Roche Abbey near Maltby. Dutifully I studied their website looking for opening times and any restrictions on photography, most venues are quite relaxed and happy for you to take pictures of a couple there as long as you don’t cause a nuisance to the rest of the visitors or turn-up with a full wedding party! The Roche Abbey website mentioned that wedding photography attracted a charge as did commercial photography. Deborah gave them a call and asked what the situation was with us, our two children and our engaged couple taking a few images there; we would use these for the couple to have in their signature mount for their wedding day. She was informed that this was classed as “commercial photography” and as such “ we would need to pay a fee of £150”! I mean £20 or £30 I could understand but 150 quid, no one in their right mind is ever going to pay that!
Suffice to say we did not pay this £150 fee and did not visit Roche Abbey. In an attempt to extract another £150 from us you have lost out on £10.40 family entrance + 2 adults at another £4 each, that’s getting on for £20 plus whatever we might have spent in the cafe or gift shop. In addition I have added Roche Abbey to my “do not visit ever” list. I also have rules and I stick to them!
Anyway, we went instead to Hellaby Hall Hotel where our couple will marry later in the year and had a wonderful time there, the location is magnificent and the staff could not have been more helpful we are both really excited about the Wedding, can’t wait!
Will share some images from today sometime in the future, and obviously some images from the Wedding once we have delivered them.
An Engagement photography session at Linacre Reservoirs with Amy and Chris ahead of their Wedding in at Christ Church Hackenthorpe Sheffield next month. Not even the pouring rain could dampen their spirits, a very happy couple and so much fun to be with, can’t wait for their Wedding!
Engagement Photography session with our happy couple ahead of their Wedding at the end of May. These sessions are a fantastic way for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us and for us to see how you react to being the centre of attention! Our style of photography is as far as it can be hands off, it is your day and you don’t want us bossing you about and ruining it by trying to capture that amazing image for some competition or other, after all, we are working for you, not the other way round!
Engagement photography session in Sheffield Botanical Gardens ahead of their Wedding at The Mosborough Hall Hotel
An Engagement Photo Session in one of Sheffield’s finest parks, Sheffield Botanical Gardens. I love this place and love photographing there, we are so luck to have such a wonderful park so close to our city centre and the busy Ecclesall Road. We had a fantastic time with Sarah and Peter ahead of their wedding at Whitley Hall, I will be sharing a few images from that fantastic day shortly after the happy couple have their images – look out for the owls!
I’ve lived in Sheffield virtually all my life and had never walked along the Rivelin Valley until another engagement photo session a few weeks ago. I must admit I’ve been missing out all this time as once you get away from the playground it is a beautiful valley to walk along. We had a terrific fun time with these two, I hope their wedding is as much fun!
I must have driven along Rivelin Valley Road a thousand times in my life but had never taken the time to get out of the car and walk along the river, a mistake! This is a beautiful valley to walk along even if like on this day back in early July it’s drizzling. We and tremendous fun at this couple’s wedding, we will be sharing some images in the future.
These are from last summer, we had been so busy with weddings I’ve not had time to post anything for ages! There will be some images form Stella and Derek’s wedding to follow in a a week or two, once we have delivered them of course! Their wedding was a fantastic, fun day and torrential the rain for 90% of the day couldn’t dampen the spirits of this fantastic, funny couple or their terrific guests, can’t wait to post some of them. The Engagement session and the Wedding itself both took place at The Kenwood Hall Hotel Sheffield.
Here are a selection of photographs from Rufford Abbey Country Park, the engagement session of Mike & Sharon ahead of their wedding in August. Let’s hope the sun shines as much that day as it did while we were here. These two are such a lovely, funny couple, we can’t wait for the giggles to start on their wedding day!
Engagement photo shoot in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens ahead of their Wedding in May. These gardens are so beautiful and the city is so lucky to have them, even better that they are so close to the city centre. This particular Wedding will be in Lastingham, North Yorkshire close to Pickering – we can’t wait!
I’d never even visited Bolsover Castle let alone photographed there. Heather and Brett were to be our first Wedding of 2015 and we undertook their Engagement photography session just before Christmas. They are a wonderful, very happy couple and tremendous fun to be around!
This is the pre-wedding photo session of Nicola and Daniel at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. The botanical gardens is a wonderful venue for a wedding as well as a nice day out!
Engagement or ‘pre-shoots’ are a great opportunity to get used to being photographed, this might be the first time you have been photographed professionally! It is a good opportunity for us to get to know you both too. Some couples prefer a traditional, more restrained approach to image capture while others like to let their hair down and have a blast, the better we know you and your likes, the easier it will be to get the wedding images you desire!
It was terrific fun to photograph Stacey and Alan’s engagement session, we didn’t photograph their wedding in Athens as we were wedding guests and you should not (usually) mix business with pleasure! The Engagement photo shoot took place in Weston Park Sheffield, another of the Cities magnificent parks.
Engagement Photography photo session at the Kenwood Hall Hotel in Sheffield ahead of their wedding a couple of months later at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Handsworth, Sheffield with their Wedding Reception back at Kenwood Hall.
This is our first blog post. The post is about an engagement photography photo-shoot in Norfolk Heritage Park in Sheffield. Engagement photography sessions or pre-wedding photography sessions present an excellent opportunity for our couples to become accustomed to being photographed prior to their wedding day. Being the centre of attention can be a little daunting for some and the added burden of being photographed from start to finish can just add to the complications! For this reason, we offer these as a complementary part of the package, having worked with us during the engagement photo session, seen how we work and being able to understand we are human too and just want the best for you helps put one point of potential worry to bed.
This Engagement session took place in Norfolk Heritage Park in Sheffield. This is a fantastic park very close to the centre of Sheffield providing some stunning panoramic views of the city centre and some delightful walks through woodland within the park. We are really lucky in Sheffield to have some of the best open spaces to explore and relax in of any large city in the UK, it is sad the we frequently don’t get enough time to explore and make the most of them.
