This is a picture of the beautiful Halifax Hall in Sheffield. The photograph was taken at the first wedding we photographed at Halifax Hall which was yet another new venue for us during the year. While we love to work at some of our old familiar wedding venues in Sheffield, venues which include Kenwood Hall Hotel, Whitley Hall Hotel and Mosborough Hall Hotel, we also relish the chance to go to a new venue, explore some new surroundings and create some pictures for our couples on their wedding day.
Being in new surroundings drives our creativity and makes us look for photo opportunities in these new surroundings. We have a completely blank canvas; everything is new so every photograph we take at a new venue is taken from a standing start without any preconceived ideas. When we work at somewhere familiar image creation can be more difficult as we try to create something new and unique while treading well-worn paths. It isn't to say that we cannot, or do not create different pictures for all our couples when in familiar locations, but a complete change of scene really does stimulate the artistic and thought process.
