This must have been one of the wettest days ever, certainly the wettest day we have photographed a wedding on. The only time it stopped raining was as the Wedding Party sat down for the Wedding Breakfast, and it started again almost at the exact moment the finished their speeches, which is about par for the course with UK weather. We photographed another wedding here at Kenwood Hall Hotel two days after this one, rather than the wettest day it turned out to be the hottest, it was boiling!
We always feel a sense of disappointment for our couples when the weather lets them down but it is one of the downsides to living in the UK, one minute it can be roasting, the next pouring, it is just luck. We always do our best to find some moment to grab some images, even if it means waiting until later in the day than planned, we usually managed to find some point when we can have a quick walk outside for some pictures. It isn't like an engagement photography session where if the worst comes to the worst, you can wait a while for the weather to clear or even abandon it and come back at a later date, weddings are a one time only event and are run on a tight timescale with everything needing to flow so you have to get the job done one way or another.
