This photograph from a wedding at Mosborough Hall Hotel is actually taken at the nearby Rother Valley Country Park in South Yorkshire. We always like to have some quiet time with our bride and groom shortly after their wedding to allow them to relax before the rest of the day's activities. Our bride and groom wanted to find somewhere well away from their guests as as wonderful as all the attention is, it can sometimes be difficult to fully relax with a crowd of spectators and that sometimes doesn't make for the most relaxed looking images.
This was a bitterly cold day near to Christmas and the day had started with a covering of snow. The temperatures were slow to rise but they did eventually clear the snow but it remained to us at least a very cold day. Marte being Norwegian didn't seem to feel the cold like the rest of us, it was barely above freezing late on in the afternoon as this image was captured and to ditch her jacket for the photographs was a very brave move but ultimately worth it.
We captured a series of image on this path running around the periphery of Rother Valley. We had scouted this area out a couple of weeks before as the first choice for the images had turned into a mud bath due to the incredible rain we had received, this path fortunately had a hard surface making walking along it mush easier for our happy couple.
