There are so many wedding venues for engaged couples to choose from in and around Sheffield it would be a surprise if any photographer has worked at all of them! Photographing a wedding at a new venue is always an exciting prospect for us, it presents us with a whole series of previously un-encountered photography opportunities and situations in which to be creative. One new wedding photography venue for us was this year was the historic Grade II listed Sheffield Cutlers Hall on Church Street in the heart of the city of Sheffield.
The photograph above was taken at this wedding as the happy couple entered the main banqueting hall in the Cutlers Hall ahead of their wedding breakfast. As they enter the room they pass through a shower of confetti enthusiastically thrown by their guests as they begin this part of their wedding day celebrations. Photographing confetti throwing is always exciting for us and looks to be a very exciting part of the wedding day for the couple’s guests! This was a wonderful wedding for us to photograph and a wonderful day the bride and groom and their family and friends.
The present Cutlers Hall is the third building on this site and was completed in 1832. It has a choice of 5 different rooms catering for weddings on all scales, with the main hall able to seat in excess of 200 wedding guests. The building features many wonderful locations for wedding photography with the grand staircase being a particularly stunning location. This amazing venue has some spectacular features including the grand staircase which makes a wonderful setting for individual of group photographs at a wedding reception.
There are some stunning and magnificent wedding venues in and around Sheffield which give couples getting married a truly mind-boggling choice of places to tie the knot. If you want (or need) something as large as the Cutlers Hall, then it is there for you. If you want a large hotel wedding, then there is plenty of choice here too. Should you desire small, intimate wedding for immediate family and a few close friends then there are also plenty of options for that too. The smallest wedding, we have photographed so far had eight people attending including the bride and groom and us! While it is possible to have a smaller wedding there really is not much further to go! We are happy to photograph weddings of all sizes, the important thing for us is that you are happy and having a great day!
This wedding was a large one and needed a large venue to fit everyone in in comfort. While there are other wedding venues within Sheffield that would fit the bill, Alex and Ryan had really set their hearts on the Cutlers Hall. The magnificent staircase shown below is ideal for family formal photos as well as the larger group photographs.
