Our first visit to photograph a wedding at the beautiful Cressbrook Hall near Buxton in Derbyshire. This is a wonderful wedding venue and one we didn’t even know about until the lovely Helen and Nathan approached us to photograph their wedding day there. A day’s work for a wedding photographer doesn’t get much better than this. A fantastic and fun couple, their amazing family and friends all set in a beautiful rural location tucked away in a quiet corner of Derbyshire.
This image was captured with my amazing Nikon D5 (is it possible anyone could build a better camera?) and my Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 E FL, the third 70-200mm f/2.8 Nikon lens I’ve owned; they just get better and better with every new generation. Using the maximum f/2.8 aperture of this wonderful lens and with the subject back lit it makes for a dreamy look to the photograph with some wonderful bokeh.
There are some hidden gems of wedding venues so close to our Sheffield base. A we continue our ongoing adventures as wedding photographers we are really lucky to get invited to visit many of them and to record the beginning of the journey through married life together. Cressbrook Hall must be one our favourite new venues so far.
The magnificent orangery played host to this wonderful couples wedding breakfast, yet another highlight of this wonderful day. We loved photographing this Cressbrook Hall wedding so much we have created a wedding album of some memorable images from the day.
As an added bonus, at the time of writing, 2018 looks like being one of the nicest, sunniest summers to visit the UK in a long while. The application of some sunny weather to images always makes them look so much more fun, if only every summer didn’t treat us so well! A more fantastic wedding day would be difficult to imagine and what a wonderful start to a married life together.
