Whirlow Brook Hall on the edge of Sheffield is a wonderful wedding venue right on the edge of the Peak District. This wedding venue set in magnificent parkland has some stunning grounds which are an absolute joy to spend time in with, and photographing happy couples on wedding day, or on their engagement photo shoots. The photograph shown above was taken at the first wedding at Whirlow Brook Hall following the lifting of restrictions and lockdowns imposed on us during the covid outbreak (happy days - not). Back then, weddings were restricted to 30 guests which included both Deborah and I even though we were working as photographers on the day! Measures eased further a couple of months later to exclude us from these numbers as we were deemed to be working in the same way as the waiting and bar staff.
Despite all the restrictions at the time, we had a wonderful time at this couple’s wedding, creating them some wonderful images to remember their wedding day by. The grounds at Whirlow Brook Hall are amongst the best in the city, and probably also much further afield too, and we love to photograph couples here following their wedding ceremony, and sometimes some of their very special guests too though these chaps were at the far side of the galaxy for this wedding, probably avoiding lockdown! There are woods, manicured gardens, shaded walks through some sumptuous areas as well as some beautiful lawns and a couple of lakes thrown in too. Almost every year since we started our wedding photography adventure we have photographed a wedding at least one wedding here, it is one of the highlights of our year, sometimes more than once a year if we are really, truly lucky! Well worth a look if you want something truly beautiful in a semi-rural location in or around Sheffield.
