The photograph shown here is the interior of the magnificent Saint Mary's church in Lastingham, North Yorkshire during a wedding we were invited to photograph in May 2015 in this tiny but beautiful village. Following the wedding ceremony we went up onto the moors above the village for some photographs of the bride and groom surrounded by the beautiful North Yorkshire scenery.
The magnificent interior of this parish church is absolutely superb and should really be viewed first hand to appreciate it fully. The image shown here does a reasonable job of capturing the magnificent details but there is something about actually visiting somewhere that really adds to the experience. The church has an amazing crypt dating back hundreds of years and is used for the signing of the register. Following a drinks reception for the wedding guests in the village hall the whole wedding party travelled back for a wedding reception at the Forest and Vale Hotel in the nearby town of Pickering also in North Yorkshire.
